Changing ReinJoin us in changing lives! Changing Rein offers equine assisted services to differently- abled individuals. Currently the program offers several volunteer opportunities. Our primary need at present is for program volunteers who work with our horses and support our riders in therapeutic and adaptive lessons. Other volunteer opportunities include: grounds maintenance and administrative/clerical work. Must be at least 14 years old to participate. Horse experience helpful, but not necessary. Franciscan Hospice seeks volunteersFranciscan Hospice seeks volunteers to support patients and their families. Franciscan Hospice is seeking volunteers to help terminally ill patients and their families throughout Pierce County, including the Tacoma, Puyallup, Lakewood, and Gig Harbor areas, as they face life’s final passage. Volunteers give as many as four hours each week to help local hospice families in a variety of ways, from providing caregivers with a needed rest, offering companionship, running errands, visiting nursing homes, and sharing in patients’ life reviews. In return, they are rewarded with diverse opportunities and ongoing support. Franciscan Hospice is holding several comprehensive 3-day trainings this fall.
